Scope and Contents

255 x 200 mm. Shows Lady Arthur receiving a bouquet from a young girl. The typescript caption attached to the reverse of the print continues: 'Obviously pleased by the proceedings, Lady Arthur accepts a bouquet from a young resident of George Town, Exuma. Lady Arthur and the Bahamas' new governor, Sir Raynor Arthur, K. C. M. G. , C. V. O., visited George Town to witness the Fourth Annual Out Regatta, April 11-13, which is limited to native work boats of the Bahamas. -30-'. The caption is from the Bahamas News Bureau, who have stamped the reverse of the print with the reference: '12772', and continues: 'Direction of: Robinson-Hannagan Associates', giving their full postal address and telephone number. Annotated beneath the typescript caption in black ink is: '1957 - (?) on 1 April'. It is not known what this date refers to, as the Regatta, during which this photograph was taken, is known to have taken place April 11-13.
